On October 29, 2010, the United States Department of Education required that by July 1, 2011, any institution that provided programs that lead to "gainful employment" must provide to prospective students the following information:

1.  The US Department of Labors Standard Occupational Classification code for the "gainful employment" programs offered; Echelon Edge Academy of Hair, Skin & Nails provides both a Cosmetology SOC Code #39-5012.00 and a Master Esthetics SOC Code #39-5094.00, as well as a CIP Code #420200 for the entire Academy.

Occupations for Hairdressers, Hairstylists and Cosmetologists provided by O*NET at www.onetonline.org  provide beauty services, such as shampooing, cutting, coloring and styling hair, as well as massaging and treating the scalp.  May also apply makeup, dress wigs, perform hair removal and provide nail and skin care services.

Per the Bureau of Labor statistics the median (middle) annual wage for a Cosmetologist is $22,760 an average of $10.94 hourly.

2. On time graduation rates for students enrolled during the most recent award year: 63% of students who were scheduled to graduate between 07/01/2009 amd 06/30/2010 graduated "on time".

3. Tuition, fees, and institutional charges: These charges are published in a catalog that is accessible upon request.  Tuition = $15,000.00; Enrollment fee = $100.00

4. Cost for books, supplies and equipment = $2,400.00

5. Job placement rates for completing the program: This information is also found in the school catalog that is accessible upon request.  From our last accrediting commission report of November 2010, 78% from calendar year 2009 were placed immediately upon graduation.

6. Median (middle) Loan Debt: The median Title IV loan debt for students enrolled in school during the 2009/2010 award year (July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010) was $5,500.00

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of personal appearance jobs is projected to jump 31% between 2008 - 2018.  This rate of growth is three times that of total US Employment (11%) during the same period.

All of the major personal appearance occupations are projected to post job growth stronger than the overall economy between 2008 - 2018.  The number of skin care specialist jobs is projected to jump 51%, while hairdresser, hairstylist and cosmetologist positions are expected to increase by 31%.

Careers in the salon and spa industry present opportunities for business ownership.  In fact, 61% of salons are owned by women, compared to just 30% of all businesses in the overall private sectors.
